Bukit Tinggi Resort recently was renamed Berjaya Hills but many still prefer to use the old name. This resort is about 60 minutes drive from the city of Kuala Lumpur and has an area of 16,000 acres with an abundance of lush tropical rainforests. Batu Buruk Beach

Batu Buruk Beach or Pantai Batu Burok is one of the popular stretch of beach in Kuala Terengganu where locals go to during the weekends and in the evening. It is located just 1km away from the city of Kuala Terengganu and is in front of Primula Beach Resort, a 4 Star Hotel. This stretch of scenic beach is sandy in nature and casuarina trees grow abundantly along the beach. The Cultural Centre is also located here and traditional games, stage performances are on display here on Fridays from 5pm to 6:30pm. The performances that you can see include the pencak silat, a form of Malay martial art, kite flying, sepak raga and top spinning.

Food Stalls

The facility here is as good as Teluk Chempedak Beach in Kuantan, Pahang. There are many food stalls that sell a variety of local food for your convenience. Ais Krim Goreng or Fried Ice Cream is one of the famous food here. Try also the Nasi Dagang, a traditional rice from Terengganu. The Keropok Lekor is another specialty of Terengganu that you should try. It is made from fish meat that is grounded to a paste, mixed together with sago after which it is boiled. The Keropok Keping is the fried and crispy version. They are usually taken when hot and dip with chilly sauce.

The crowd and food stalls in the evening

The night market is on every Friday from 3pm to 7pm, a weekend holiday for the state of Terengganu where many extra stalls are set up to accommodate the throng of people who come here for a time of relaxation. The beach is well maintained by the municipal council and is one of the cleanest beach in the city.
Swimming here is not recommended as the waves are strong and due to the fact that it faced the open South China Sea. Horse riding for a fee is also a common sight here during the weekends. Beach soccer is also one of the activity that the youth indulge in at the beach during their free time.
If you are looking for a fast food restaurant to fill your hungry stomach, the A&W Restaurant is just located near the round about, about 5 minutes drive from Primula Beach Resort.

Aquarium KLCC

Aquarium KLCC

Known as AQUARIA, this centre is a good place to go for a time of entertainment as well as for education on the wonders of the marine world after your shopping in Suria KLCC. Located within 5 minutes walking distance from Suria KLCC, this aquarium features over 5,000 animals of 150 species of aquatic and land animals from Malaysia and around the world.

The exhibit is divided into 6 sections:

• 1. The Highland
• 2. Jewels Of The Jungle
• 3. Flooded Forest
• 4. The Coast
• 5. The Living Reef
• 6. The Living Ocean

As you enter aquarium KLCC, you will see the forests with streams of rivers flowing down the mountains. The tropical rainforest of Malaysia is featured here where you will be able to see the jungle animals and the typical sound that you will hear if you go to the jungle of Malaysia. The Flooded Forest shows the ecosystems where trees, plants and sea creatures co-exists in harmony with nature. The coast has the typical mangrove plants where crabs, prawns, mud-skippers and monkeys abound. There is a touch pool for those who are curious to feel how the sea creatures actually feel like.

Underwater Tunnel

A 90m underwater walkway tunnel awaits you towards the end of the exhibition. The rich marine life is seen through the acrylic class as you walk underneath it. You will see the powerful Sand Tiger Sharks as they are being fed by the trainers in the water. Colourful fishes with beautiful coral reefs add to the beauty of the ocean life. Remember to take along your video camera to record your experience here.

If you are keen to learn in greater detail about the exhibits, there are interactive Information Kiosks that you can use. Those who are adventures may want to try to "Dive With Sharks" for a fee of RM400 for certified divers and RM450 for non-certified divers.

Getting to the Aquarium KLCC

This AQUARIA is opened from 11am to 8pm everyday with the last admission at 7pm. The best means of transport to come here is using the Putra LRT. Board the Putra LRT and stop at KLCC station. Follow the signage to AQUARIA KLCC and you will be here in about 10 minutes time.
